Privacy Policy

This policy explains how InaiTamil (operated by Arkaico Labs Ltd, “we”, “us”) handles your personal data when you use inaitamil.com. It applies to visitors, newsletter subscribers, directory listees, and anyone who contacts us. We process data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

The data controller is Arkaico Labs Ltd, registered in England & Wales. Contact: [email protected].

2. What data we collect

  • Newsletter subscribers: email address, optional name, and the date you subscribed.
  • Directory listings: business or organisation name, contact details, address, opening hours, and any descriptive copy you submit. If you submit a listing, we also collect your name and email so we can verify it.
  • Site usage: we use privacy-respecting analytics (page views, referrer, country, device class). We do not use cookies that identify you personally.
  • Contact form / email: whatever you choose to send us.

We do not collect special-category data (health, religion, ethnicity, political opinion) unless you volunteer it in a submission. If you do, we treat it under the special-category lawful basis declared below.

3. Lawful basis for processing

  • Newsletter: consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR). You may withdraw at any time.
  • Directory listings: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — operating a community directory of businesses and organisations that have asked to be listed.
  • Analytics: legitimate interests — measuring traffic to a community publication.
  • Communications you initiate: legitimate interests — responding to you.

4. How long we keep it

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Directory listings: while the listing is published. We keep a record of removed listings for 12 months for dispute purposes, then delete.
  • Contact email: 24 months from last reply, then deleted unless we have a continuing relationship.

5. Who we share data with

We use the following processors. Each is bound by a Data Processing Agreement.

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, edge delivery (EU and UK regions).
  • Supabase — directory database (EU region).
  • Resend — newsletter and transactional email delivery.
  • Listmonk — newsletter campaign management, self-hosted on our infrastructure.
  • Ghost — editorial content management, self-hosted on our infrastructure.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We will disclose data when legally compelled (court order, regulator request) and will notify you where we are permitted to.

6. International transfers

Where processors operate outside the UK or EEA, transfers rely on adequacy decisions, UK International Data Transfer Addenda, or Standard Contractual Clauses as appropriate.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent. Email [email protected]. We respond within one calendar month.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

8. Cookies

We use only strictly-necessary cookies (session, security, language preference). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics provider does not set identifying cookies.

9. Children

InaiTamil is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we hold data about a child, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be notified via the newsletter.
